new mexico sun hot on my legs

so bright reflecting off my book

burning my eyes

the cat named beef is sleeping on my back

these short hours when im not working

their too short

and then i go back to the beautiful chaos

if life wasnt hectic we would take relaxing for granted

problem is i cant seem to relax here

even when im allowed

today tiny zeke smiled so big at me

it literally gave me a baby zeke rush

a shaking little meth baby smile is the most rewarding thing

i held him at lunch

and the one year old princess beside me wants to hold his hand

his hand in hers

their hands in mine

and its just a simple beautiful moment

i write this while im on playduty

im surrounded with tiny bodies and so much brown hair

the one on my lap has a snotty nose

and twinkling happy eyes

my arms are around her writing on construction paper that has multiple scribbles from their colorful crayons

this little one is pretending to be a secretary i think

her arms crossed

she thinks shes the one writing words on construction paper

and then she interrupted my thoughts and my writing

time to cuddle

snuggles close

closes big eyes

framed with the longest black eyelashes ever

pretending shes tired

and then the phone rings and her eyes are open

her little mouth in a big O

my heart shes the cutest

tonight it got to the point where the cops were called

dont worry were all fine

just stressed

and bruised

once again i experienced an amazing off day

we hiked pyramid

and the red rock and the sand

this is too beautiful
