heavy legs running

dragging winter clothes through

thick peanut butter energy

our breathe making foggy puffs

your eyes laughing

your blonde braid turning white

with cold frost

the calves love you almost as much as I do

you throw your arms around my horses

loving them like apatchy

loving them like your own

I love that

& when we are inside

curled up in fox & koala onsies

tired sleepy eyes dreaming of hot tea

after hard work & to many giggles

your cute when you sleep in my hammock

late hours

dark kitchens

mac & cheese at midnight

chocolate cream with a bit of milk

photos of you

are captured in my brain

& when your nose wrinkles up

& you hug me fast

excited giggles

excited little dances

like a fairy running home for her supper

we are daughters of these moments

drinking goblets filled with gold

the sun is pulling sleep from my body

i am awakening

to another day

another normal day

another day of loving fishburn ranch

of gasping at the wonder of this beauty

& then the calm quiet question

my daddy gently hands it

but it hits my chest

adrenaline

new mexico

land of navajos

my face is wet with emotion

my heart is heavy with decision

is this for me God?

so now I will begin to pack my bags

I will begin to dream about the navajo babies

adventure awaits me

& i am holding Gods hand

I will fly away december 1

leaving my life behind me

to live navajo life

I will come back to you in may
