trying to convince hearts that it's not sad. because it is.
but it also has to happen.
eyes plead for answers.
because what in the world are we going to do.
all these stories.
& none of them as happy as my own.
every one hurts & every cries.
& they all lie.
we need to keep living.
even when the lights go out. keep going.
she watches him throw the rock.
ricocheting off the brick wall & shattering.
the color in your eyes tell a story.
& watching him turn away you pray.
you pray hard.
this world is full of hate. & mixed with this hate is more love then you will ever know. ever know. the planetary. vast. ocean like huge. of love that is engulfing this world. bibles flip open & eyes land on the comfort. the reminder. friends buy you that coffee & the twinkle of love as they laugh at your silly jokes. the snow falling behind the string lights. & the thoughts of the souls you love. wishing they were beside you. the feeling of the warm enviable house you will come into. smelling of hot provisions. warm soup slides down raw throats & cold hands touch tired shoulders.
love.
so much of it. & we take it so for granted.
but it's there. teasing us with a warm hug.
so you take it.
& you sigh a prayer.
for the boy that doesn't know love.
the mountains are still watching - ginger
