ginger lyric

blurry outline

blue trucks

busy streets

salad tongs gingerly hand masks

smiles spread up to brown eyes

chocolate & bar soap thrown

into cheerful baskets

cold air

that pretty girl named hana

hello little sis

chairs tied together

mustard string

blurring moments

too short

too short

short drive

short time

too short

miss you already

I am cold

we say goodbye

friends leave friends

hands wave

blurry sadness

mixed with such a feeling

of being blessed

with such friends

dark road stretches far

lights burn eyes

hours of talk

sleepy talk

lines of trucks

steam hitting cold air

early mornings

so many cows

so many trucks

so many horses

so many cowboys

hana & I eat egg burritos

we watch the smokey sun

we watch the cows leave

the trucks driving a w a y

gone

horses run fast

the dust rising

mixing with the smoke

so many bulls

wrecking fences

charging comrades

stressful heart beat

but we succeeded

daddy called it bravery

tired

truck pulls the loading shoot

slowly

and careful

backing up

unhooking

hana is strong

but the trailer bites her

no finger nail

blood

lots

pain. shaking.

I dont like to see her hurt

my eyes cry sympathy

6 hours in the hospital

these things happen to cowgirls

we need pizza. & sleep

the smokey sun is

red colours

but no mountains

they are hiding behind the smoke

they cannot watch

God is holding my heart

telling me it is still beautiful

telling me it will be alright

he has blessed me

with all of this

& with you

I am still carrying that smile you gave me
